Dr. Swagata Chaudhuri, (Alumni from the Micropaleontology Lab) joined as Marie Skłodowska–Curie Postdoctoral Fellow (EUTOPIA-SIF Cofund) In Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium
Dr. Satabdi Mohanty has received an innovative poster award from Prof. Pankaj Srivastava, Chairperson of ICMS 2024 and Head, Department of Geology, University of Delhi on October 19, 2024.Â
Ms. Nitika Millicent Patrick (PhD admission No. 22DR0153) successfully completed the 'Advanced Training Programme on Analytical Geochemistry' organised by CSIR-NGRI, Hyderabad during 4-13 March 2024.Â
Mr. Koustav Chattopadhyay (PhD admission No. 23DR0067) successfully completed the 'Hands-on Training Workshop on Genetic Tools in Foraminiferal Research' organised by Agharkar Research Institute, Pune during 10-13 December 2024. Â
Dr. Nishant Vats (23PF0149) delivered an invited talk on "Assessment of oxygenation conditions in the marine environment: utilizing foraminiferal paleo-secrets"Â in the National Seminar at the Department of Geology, Khallikote Unitary University, Berhampur, Odisha on 13.2.2025.Â
Micropaleontology laboratory, Dept. of Applied Geology, proudly hosted two distinguished centenary lectures delivered by luminaries in geosciences, Prof. Sunil Bajpai and Prof. Anil K Gupta. We extend our sincere gratitude for their invaluable contributions.
Micropaleontology laboratory, Dept. of Applied Geology, proudly organised a one-day workshop on July 3, 2025, for the students of D.P.L.M.A +2 High School, Nawagarh, Baghmara, Dhanbad. They were introduced to the basics of geology, its scope, career prospects and the field of micropaleontology. They explored the lab's research contributions, various scientific instruments used in research, and also visited the Geological museum and observed impressive collections of fossils, minerals and rock specimens gaining insights into Earth's history and processes.
